Agents of Hope

Agents (Brokers) of Hope Program Overview
Agents (Brokers) of Hope is an influencer program designed to provide local real estate agents and brokers timely, local and relevant content to use on their website and social channels, while supporting Redwood Park Communities and their mission to solve the affordable housing crisis in Barrie.

Redwood Park Communities Background
Tim Kent founded Redwood Park Communities with his wife Rhonda and a small group of volunteers because they wanted to make an impact locally. They had been volunteering to assist families move from the shelter into the next place they would call home, and they began to notice a few things that didn’t sit right. Families were moving into less than hopeful spaces, and they had little to no support for the challenges ahead.

It was these realizations, coupled with their experience and understanding of the building industry, that prompted them to do something.

Tim and Rhonda recognized they could assist people who needed safe, affordable, hopeful housing, and supportive community. They believed this support could make it easier for families to re-imagine their lives and the lives of their children and begin to hope and dream again. Since starting Redwood, they’ve seen the impact supportive community can have.

About Second Suites
Redwood Park Communities also created a second suites housing initiative, in collaboration with Community Builders, to provide safe and affordable housing in our community by helping homeowners create second suites in their homes.

A Redwood Second Suite™ is a legal, self-contained rental unit within a single dwelling house, typically as a basement apartment but can be installed on any floor of the house or in a converted detached garage. These apartments have their own entrance, kitchen, and bathroom.

Second suites provide tenants with affordable rental options in neighbourhood settings, while also generating rental income for homeowners.

Once the apartment is created, the space can then be rented out to Redwood Park Communities who will pay rent to the homeowner directly.

About Redwood Furniture Bank
The brand new Redwood Furniture Bank will help get unwanted furniture to people who need it, locally.

For people moving or downsizing, the Furniture Bank makes it easy to get rid of unwanted furniture, receive a charitable tax donation receipt, and know that the furniture will be helping someone in need make their house feel like a home.

Agents of Hope are encouraged to make their clients aware of this service!
