Redwood Park Communities in partnership with The Salvation Army is building a Family Short-Term Supportive Housing Centre: a two-storey building with 12 fully furnished, two bedroom apartments for families in crisis.
The building will feature a great room, complete with a spacious kitchen and a large stone fireplace. It’s a space where families' lives intersect, fostering community. We believe that the opposite of homelessness is not just housing, it’s community.

October 2020 - Things. Are. HAPPENING onsite! Yay! Arnott Construction is doing site servicing, including the installation of utilities (water, hydro, sewage) and removal of a few trees, which will prepare the site for construction of the building. The site servicing work has begun and is expected to be completed by early December at the latest.

Every day in our community, many individuals and families experience the fear, hopelessness and uncertainty that comes with losing their housing.
A safe, supportive space to catch their breath, regroup, and plan next steps can be the difference between this life event being a speed bump for a family, or an off-ramp...perhaps for generations.
When everyone in our city has a safe, affordable, hopeful place to call home, our entire community is healthier and more resilient.
The new Family Short-Term Supportive Housing Centre is one way we are helping to making this a reality in Barrie.
